Shell Cassida


Shell Cassida is a fully synthetic, high performance, anti-wear Lubricant which has been specially formulated for the lubrication of drive and transport chains in the food industry.

Shell Cassida is based on a careful blend of synthetic fluids and selected additives chosen for its ability to meet the stringent requirements of the food industry.


Registered by NSF (Class H1) for use where there is potential for incidental food contact. Shell Cassida meets the guidelines (1998) of, and were previously authorised by, the US Department of Agriculture Food Safety and Inspection Service (USDA FSIS) for H1 use (lubricant with incidental food contact) and listed in Miscellaneous Publication No 1419 “List of Proprietary Substances and Nonfood Compounds”. Shell Cassida contains only substances permitted under US 21 CFR 178.3570, 178.3620 and 182 for use in lubricants with incidental food contact.

Shell Cassida is a multipurpose fluid designed for a number of special applications in the food manufacturing industry, including absorber oil for edible oil solvent recovery systems, can-forming and closed circuit/pressureless heat transfer systems. The fluid has been specially developed to meet the stringent requirements of the food industry.

Registered by NSF for use in both direct contact applications (Class 3H) and where there is potential for incidental food contact (Classes H1 and HT1). Shell Cassida contains only substances permitted under US 21 CFR 172.878 for direct contact applications and under US 21 CFR 178.3570, 178.3620, and 182 for use in lubricants with incidental food contact.


Shell Cassida is a very high performance extreme pressure lubricant specially blended for the grease lubrication of machinery used in food and beverage processing and packaging industry.
